Good Morning Snore Solution product packagingSo, we have the the Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece. In the increasingly crowded world of anti snoring mouthpieces, this one is literally in a class of its own. It’s the only mouthpiece of this type that is easy to purchase without a prescription or dentist’s bill. It’s a huge step forward for mouthpieces, and there is no debate about it.

Design

The Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece is FDA-cleared and the company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, two distinctions that many mouthpiece manufacturers do not share. The mouthpiece is flexible, made of a soft material and is BPA-free. In essence, it is very similar in concept and shape to a baby soother, with a bulb on the end. Because the design is truly unique and not at all like that of MAD snoring mouthpieces, this is a one size fits all mouthpiece, which is very convenient – no need to stress about sizing.

Pricing And The 30 Day Trial Period

If you are like, um, pretty much anyone, one of the key considerations for buying a mouthpiece is the price. This is an important focus, for sure. It is important to note right off the top that the GMSS is one of the more expensive mouthpieces. That is a fact. But because of its unique design, not only does this mouthpiece tend to last longer, it also is far more comfortable than most of its MAD competitors, can be used by people with specialized dental work, and doesn’t actually cause any problems with TMJ (read more here).

Considering how well this device works, over the long term, the Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece is surprisingly economical. When purchasing the mouthpiece, you should realize that one of the devices will last approximately one year.

Use the Coupon Code: SMR15 to save 15% off everything at the GMSS site.

If you do decide that you do not like how the mouthpiece is working, there is a 30-day money back guarantee on every device that you purchase. This is key, as a refund policy is something most mouthpiece manufacturers offer. One thing that should be noted here is that the GMSS money back guarantee is a great thing to have. If it turns out you don’t like the mouthpiece, just send it back. That’s right. Few other companies believe enough in their snoring device or mouthguard to provide that kind of guarantee.

While the company used to offer only a 14 day guarantee, they have upped the ante for competitors – and upped it big time. This is excellent, as it gives you a good testing period for the GMSS.

Does Good Morning Snore Solution Work?

In a word, yes. In two words, absolutely yes. There are numerous reasons why the GMSS mouthpiece is a great choice for most people that are suffering with snoring problems. Some of those include:

  1. Oral appliances that are customized by your dentist can be very expensive. Many of the “dentist-only” devices that you may be priced into the $2,000-3,000 range and many simply do not compare to the lower priced solution.
  2. The Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece has been clinically tested. This is unique among mouthpieces.
  3. The mouthpiece will conform to the shape of your mouth (just like a baby with a pacifier) and will not disrupt your sleep.
  4. The Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece works by controlling the location of your tongue. This is far superior to altering your jaw placement, if only because the tongue is very, very malleable. Not so much your jaw bone!

How Good Morning Snore Solution Functions

The Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece will pull your tongue forward in order to clear the blockage it may cause at the back of your throat. This is the main cause of most people’s snoring. This results in a quieter and more comfortable sleep. It is important to note that until you get used to the device, you may have some very minor side effects (such as excessive spitting or a tender tongue) but these can be quickly resolved with use.

If you wear any other oral devices, such as for teeth grinding, you should seek medical advice from your physician before wearing the Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece. If you have a head cold or any type of allergy flare-ups, you are not going to want to wear the device until you are feeling better.

Taking Care Of The Good Morning Snore Solution Mouthpiece

It’s a good idea to clean the GMSS mouthpiece after each use, if only to keep your mouth clean and fresh. In my case, I usually just either rinse with cold water, or place it in a small bowl with some mouthwash (Mmm… minty!). Some folks use a denture tablet to clean it, and if this is the path you’d like to follow, I would suggest this maybe once every couple of weeks, with daily rinses. There’s really no need to spend a bunch of cash on denture tablets. Those things can get pricey!

You should never heat the GMSS mouthpiece, or cut or trim it because you think it will fit better in your mouth because this can basically destroy its effectiveness. The mouthpiece is made to conform to your mouth, and with repeated use, will become easier to wear.

The Good Morning Snore Solution Is The SAFEST Snoring Mouthpiece, Bar None (UPDATE MAY 2019)

One of the few concerns that snorers interested in snoring mouthpieces in general rarely consider is probably the most important of them all: safety. It’s understandable – after all, as almost all snoring mouthpieces that are even worth considering are FDA Cleared. Now, the distinction to remember is that they are not “approved”, or “recommended”, but cleared. This effectively means the the FDA has reviewed the mouthpiece, but really hasn’t dug incredibly deep into its use.

So how do we know that GMSS is the safest? Simple. It’s in the TSD (Tongue Stabilizing Device) design itself. Because of its baby-soother-like design, there is little potential for almost any kind of injury because of the device.

In fact, probably the WORST side effect we ever hear about Good Morning Snore Solution is that some users initially tend to spit the device out of their mouth during the night. So no inserted device equals no snoring suppression. Not good, but certainly not something a user has to worry about. After all, if you can’t keep it in your mouth, return it for a full refund!

OK, you’re thinking, but how exactly are MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device) mouthpieces unsafe?

Here’s how: over the last few years, we at the Snoring Mouthpiece Review have begun to hear more and more anecdotal evidence from MAD users that this particular style of mouthpiece, a design shared by SnoreRX, ZQuiet, Sleeptight and others, causes jaw problems, teeth shifting, and even major dental alignment problems.

You read correctly: MAJOR DENTAL ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS. It has led us to change many of our MAD reviews based on this.

Meanwhile, the GMSS causes NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS.

As a result, starting in May 2019, we have named the GMSS our number one recommended mouthpiece. While certainly MAD-jaw related issues affect only a small minority of users, we simply cannot recommend them if you have had virtually ANY dental issues.

Clinical Data Alert!

We’ve seen literally hundreds of snoring mouthpieces over the life of this site, and it is shockingly rare to run across a mouthpiece with clinical trials in place. Well, the Good Morning Snore Solution DOES HAVE CLINICAL TRIALS! In fact, dental researcher Dr. Leslie Dort published the results of her controlled study’s findings in the May 2008 issue of “Journal Of Sleep And Breathing”.

Dr. Dort’s study included 32 patients who wore the Good Morning Snore Solution for 7 days, and then a different product without the patented GMSS suction bulb. The two devices were evaluated using the following measurements:

1. Respiratory Disturbance Index – RDI is the result of the number of sleep hours divided by the number of sleep disturbances.

2. Snoring Index – SI is the average number of snores the patient experiences in a 60 minute period.

3. Epworth Sleepiness Scale – ESS is a measure of patient daytime sleepiness.

And the results? Well, on average the GMSS wearers experienced anywhere from 50% to 100% RDI reduction, moving the Snoring Index number to less than 10 for all patients. That means the SI number was reduced by 40%+. Of the control group, 70% using the GMSS claimed their daytime sleepiness was reduced markedly.

Now those are numbers almost anyone can live with.

Questions You May Be Unsure About (And Complaints):

  1. You can wear this particular mouthpiece even if you wear dentures at night. This is NOT the case with most MAD mouthpieces.
  2. You will need to breathe through your nose when wearing the GMSS. If you breathe through your mouth exclusively when sleeping, this mouthpiece is NOT for you. Best way to find out if you are a “mouth-breather”? Ask someone!
  3. If you have extremely sensitive teeth and/or gums, the GMSS may not work for you. It is a good idea to speak with your dentist if you have had problems in the past.
  4. If you suffer from mild to moderate snoring, the GMSS is tailor made for you. It is also good for short-term use, such as while vacationing. If you are using a CPAP machine, remember to seek professional medical advice before considering the GMSS.
  5. If you do not bite down on the GMSS, this mouthpiece will last longer than a year, and perhaps two (in my case). This is based on a variety of testimonials and reviews, as well as my personal experience.
  6. Complaints from Good Morning Snore Solution users typically center around their ability to keep the mouthpiece in during the night. While repeated use tends to alleviate this problem, there are some people who simply cannot keep the mouthpiece in their mouth. This is why when you get your trial, you should immediately begin using. If the GMSS keeps falling out after two weeks, you can still return for a refund.

Discounts, Coupons and Coupon Codes

When you take the manufacturer of GMSS and compare it to other mouthpiece manufacturers, there actually is quite a difference when it comes to discounting their products. While some NEVER discount, GMSS tends to do so with deeper discounts than other providers.

However, like most manufacturers, the likelihood of you finding a “universal coupon code” that works at anytime for Good Morning Snore Solution used to be close to zero. Then, the company contacted us and provided us with one!

Use the Coupon Code: SMR15 to save 15% off everything at the GMSS site.

On another positive note, Good Morning Snore Solution does tend to offer larger percentage discounts around major holidays like Christmas, Independence Day and of course Black Friday.

Currently, GMSS is not being additionally discounted, but we tend to update with the most cash-saving code when it is available. If you’d like to be reminded when Good Morning Snore Solution is at a deeper discount, feel free to join our mailing list here.

  1. Something you may want to note in your review is that this mouthpiece now has a 30 day money back guarantee.

That pushed me to buy the GMSS, if only because that’s a pretty huge trial time, and I knew if it was junk, I could send it back.

Fortunately, it worked for me! Snoring solved! Next customer!!!

    Thanks again!

  2. I just wanted to thank you for this review. I’ve tried quite a few mouthpieces, and although I don’t have any jaw problems, I feel like with Good Morning Snore Solution I finally found a comfortable one.

Just a warning for first time users: one of the things you will notice about this device is that while you’re first using it, it may fall out of your mouth during your sleep. This is NORMAL. I found I couldn’t keep it in my mouth for the first few days I was using it.

Patience wins the day, I guess, because now I’m pretty much snore free, at least according to my husband. This review was a big help!

  3. Thanks for this review, and for all of the research on this site. It’s been hugely helpful!

I do have a question, though. Namely, if you were trying to decide between purchasing the Good Morning Snore Solution vs. the ZQuiet, which one would you buy?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Thanks for your comment and question Ana. To answer, I would say that without a doubt I would buy the Good Morning Snore Solution. While there are those users that have difficulties keeping this mouthpiece in their mouth, this device works wonders for far more people than the ZQuiet.

I will always recommend tongue stabilizing devices like GMSS over ZQuiet for a number of reasons, the main one being comfort. There’s just no beating the GMSS in terms of overall wear-ability. Not only that, but it is of course the best mouthpiece for denture wearers, which is a significant bonus on its own.

  4. Not to be a bug, but is this product trustworthy? I like the idea of saving money by buying two, but I’m just not completely sure.

Why is this better than others?

    • Well, it’s a completely different design, Stumped. It’s better for a number of reasons, but for me the main one is comfort. Not only that, but many MAD mouthpieces just don’t feel right for people with sensitive gums or teeth. GMSS does not have these issues.

Oh, and is it trustworthy? Can you say, “30 day money back guarantee”? Seriously. This is well above the industry standard and gives you oodles of time to figure out whether this mouth guard is for you, or not.

    • Stumped, One thing that helped me in my decision to try this product is that it was developed by researchers at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada – not some entrepreneurs garage. It is patented in Canada, and with that 30 day guarantee it is definitely worth a try!!

I found that while not completely eliminating my snoring, it drastically diminishes it. I can use this while wearing orthodontic retainers which is a plus in my books.

Buying 2 at a time is very cost efficient and they last for the better part of a year (9-12 months).
I hope you gave the GMSS a try!

  5. Thanks for writing this review. I do have a question… I have pretty severe bruxism, and I was wondering if the Good Morning Snore Solution can be worn with a night guard.

I have tried the MAD mouthpieces, but because of my teeth grinding, they don’t tend to last very long. I’d like to know if this one may be a good alternative.

    • Hi Rick! Thanks for your post. I would say you probably can, but you should consult with your dentist first. Fortunately, the Good Morning Snore Solution does offer a 30 day refund policy, so if you went ahead and bought it, there is a lot of time to figure out if you like it or not and if it works for you!

  6. Does this mouthpiece provide any protection from biting your tongue while sleeping? I had issues with this when I used the VitalSleep, and want to make sure there aren’t any problems with this.

    • Well, I would say yes if used properly. The GMSS’s main function is to take your tongue out of the way and into its suction bulb.

If your tongue is in place properly, it’s probably physically impossible to bite down on your tongue.

  7. Waking Up All Night

Hi. How does this compare to the SnoreRX? I like the SnoreRX, but it does tend to feel a little constraining. I don’t have any specific dental issues or anything, it’s just a comfort thing for me.

    • Howdy, Waking Up. Well, if you’re looking to get around the “constraining” feeling of the SnoreRX, you have two choices, the ZQuiet and of course this mouthpiece. The ZQuiet is still a MAD, of course, and although it has a looser feel than SnoreRX thanks to its “living hinge”, it really doesn’t compare to GMSS.

Basically, I’ve tried them all and GMSS is my go to. The comfort is just a lot better. I do hear of and get messages from people who do experience dental issues with MAD mouthguards, but that’s never been the case with GMSS.

The bonus is GMSS’ long guarantee period, obviously. No one else comes close, so if it doesn’t work for you, you have a long time to return it.

      Personally, I think it’s a keeper. 😉

  8. Thanks for the review. I bought the Good Morning Snore Solution based on some research I did, and I still think it’s the best. I have tried MAD mouthpieces as well, but found that the jaw pressure was too much for me.

The issue I had with the GMSS was that when I first got it, it would slip out of my mouth during the night. This wouldn’t happen every night, but it did enough that it was a big pain. Obviously, the thing can’t work if it’s not in my mouth.

What I did was to trim the edges of the mouthpiece slightly. I don’t know if it’s recommended to do this or not, but I did find that it helped me.

The Good Morning Snore Solution works, and works well! Don’t be afraid to trim it! Sometimes these things need a little alteration.

    • Thanks for the tip, Ray. I found that mine fits right out of the box, but certainly your comment may help a few people out there!
